Dr Lowe's work investigates Systems; how they work, break down, are measured, and measure other things. He explores these through a variety of mediums, at a range of scales. Sometimes works are exclusively digital, sometimes they are exclusively physical, sometimes a mix of both ... or it's hard to tell.

His PhD, entitled "Presence in the Sublime", investigated the core virtual reality concept of presence and challenged long established philosophical dogma which argued that the sublime required distance (which, today, seems like a requirement unable to be satisfied). His body of work included high speed performance pieces on, and above, the salt flats at Bonneville (Utah, USA) and at Lake Gairdner (South Australia).

Post PhD his new work, Crypto Wallets, examines the concept of non-fungiblity.
